sp200-Diners-Driveins-Dives

As it turns out, 13Gypsies will be a part of the show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network. Shooting is tentatively scheduled for the end of this month, but that might change. No idea on the process after shooting as far as actual air date.

Thank you to Kathryn at Page Productions for all of her help!

    Oh great – now I’ll NEVER get a table! LOL

    And did anyone check this imbecilic review on UrbanSpoon from a typical brittle vegan:

    http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/44/662672/restaurant/Riverside/13-Gypsies-Jacksonville

    You have to ask yourself who in their right mind would go to a tapas restaurant for vegan cuisine? Maybe this person has serious B-12 deficiency from too much fad dieting?

    Whoa! Is this really the correct forum for the quality cuisine of 13 Gypsies? Or do I just have the wrong perspective on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives?

    Just wondering.

    Thanks for all the support guys!

    @Frederick
    Yeah Frederick, I actually couldnt help but laugh while I was reading that. Its funny because I know the incident theyre talking about (as you can imagine, I dont get many people asking for Tofu at 13g). The person was upset because I could not tell them with certainty if the cheese was made with vegetable or animal rennet. If the cheese is not made in-house, I get it through an importer. There is no way of knowing what type of rennet is used in making the cheeses I buy unless Im able to speak to the producer. Just silly.

    @drfugawe
    At first I wasnt really sure why the show would be interested in 13G either… since I dont consider us a Diner, Drive-In, or Dive. Im going to assume their interest is in such a small, family owned place that makes so many base items in their own kitchen.

    So I guess I should make a reservation NOW for my birthday in May?? Congrats on all the exposure. You SO deserve it and I selfishly hope you are around for a long time! But I second @drfugawe’s question. ???
